Trinity Angels Chat Room Etiquette 101 Trinity Angels strives to be the most friendly and loving chat site on the web! We want your visit with us to be the best possible experience, therefore, we've set just a few chat guidelines in order to help YOU, our beloved visitors, have a beautiful experience! What IS a Chat Room? Picture yourself in a real-life auditorium with rows of seats all facing a stage. On the stage is, or will be, the person you have come to hear. A chat room is exactly this and the same rules of etiquette apply. Imagine for a moment, taking your seat among your friends just before the "performance or speaker" begins. At this time, you are MOST welcome to chat and giggle and engage in any sort of communication you wish. All of it is perfectly appropriate until the speaker begins. In real life, the lights go down and the audience becomes quiet in order to listen and watch and out of respect for the others who have come to experience as well. At this time, you are welcome to whisper your comments and questions to one another just as you would in a real-life auditorium during a performance. You wouldn't simply speak in a regular tone while an event was going on, would you? (giggle) In a chat room, this is done by private message. To send a private message, simply double click on the person's name you wish to communicate with. This will open a separate chat box where you can talk without interrupting the main channel (channel = the chat room). When you are finished, you simply close the box and return to watching. Remember too that most people have come "to watch the performance", so they may not wish to spend the time whispering back and forth getting to know you. Imagine what it would be like if you were in a live setting repeatedly tapping the person in front of you on the shoulder. What kind of reaction would this evoke? (giggle) Likewise, remember that your speaker is there to present to the whole group. Private messages/whispers are generally frowned upon unless you've been asked to private message the speaker. Imagine what it would be like in a live auditorium setting. What would happen if every time your speaker tried to continue on with her speech, someone from behind the curtain ran out to whisper in her ear or if someone in the audience repeatedly interrupted to yell hello to someone coming in the room? Lastly, Trinity Angels LOVES to involve our visitors in chatting and question & answer sessions. You will find that EVERY single chat session allows time for getting to know one another, giggling, general chat, discussion and questions. It isn't our wish to keep you quiet and make you simply listen to whoever happens to be the discussion leader! NO WAY!! We WANT to hear from you and to know what you are thinking and feeling! Likewise, we WANT to answer your questions! (We will never put you on the spot, however, so if you simply want to come and watch...be our guest! :-)) Just try to keep the picture of the auditorium in mind while you are visiting. Know that at Trinity, there are imaginary microphones set up in each aisle-way and you WILL be called on to speak or ask your question when its time...we promise!!! Love to EACH of you! Hope to see you in chat soon! Alexis :-)
