So much controversy in the world lately, even in our own country. Should we go to war? Should we stay home? Republicans fighting Democrats, Left wing vs. Right wing (who ARE they anyway?) War advocates vs. peace advocates, etc. I had a piece ready for this spot but decided instead, to list a few of my favorite quotes in the hopes they will speak to you for a long time. I hope you read them and then understand how they weave together to make a statement about today's world. (Feel free to copy any of them and paste them where you will.) ~ with love, Alexis
"He who has so
little knowledge of human nature as to seek happiness by changing anything
but his own disposition will waste his life away in fruitless
efforts." ~Samuel Johnson "You wouldn't worry so much about what people really thought of you if you knew just how seldom they actually do." ~Unknown "Everything that is done in the world is done by hope" ~Martin Luther
"Humility does not mean you think less of yourself. It means you think of yourself less." ~Ken Blanchard "Someone once asked me "why do you always insist on taking the hard road?" and I replied "why do you assume I see two roads"? ~Unknown "When
I hear somebody sigh, 'Life is hard,' I am always tempted to ask,
'Compared to what?' "It
is well to remember that the entire universe, with one trifling exception,
is composed of others." ~John Andrew Holmes "If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one." ~Mother Teresa "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." ~Abraham Lincoln "Looking
back, I have this to regret, that too often when I loved, I did not say
so." ~David Grayson |
